It is essential for the city to be appropriately connected to citizens for them to be actively involved in decision-making processes. Tapping into the demographic and digital dividend of Harare, we developed a mobile application that enables the citizens to engage with the municipality in real-time.

Urban Observatory 

To influence municipal policies based on real facts, we established the first-ever Local Urban Observatory in Zimbabwe. The Urban Observatory is an interactive exhibit that helps cities get a bird's eye view of their situation and their needs, thus prioritizing resources to thematic areas of great impact to citizen's wellbeing. 

Policy Innovation

Re-defining urban governance in developing cities requires bringing on board all city actors in suggesting fresh and progressive thinking towards inclusive and sustainable cities. With current urban information from the Urban Observatory and citizen input from the mobile application, we convene workshops to help develop municipal policy briefs that are citizen driven.
